Charlotte Hargreaves

Charlotte Elizabeth Hargreaves was the daughter of Alastair Hargreaves and Siobhan Hargreaves and the twin sister of Catherine Hargreaves. She and Catherine were born in April 2007 while their family lived in the Boston area, then moved with their parents to Maryland in summer 2019. Charlotte pursued acting at NYU Tisch School of the Arts beginning in fall 2025 and was the romantic partner of fellow actor James Pennington.

Early Life and Background

Charlotte and Catherine were born after Alastair and Siobhan moved from England to the Boston area in late 2006. Their father was English, and their mother was Irish and originally from Dublin. Charlotte’s middle name, Elizabeth, reflected her father’s English family line.

During Alastair’s February 2011 hospitalization, four-year-old Charlotte and Catherine remained in the care of Lily O’Shea while Siobhan stayed at the hospital. The family remained in the Boston area until moving to Baltimore, Maryland, in summer 2019, when the twins were twelve.

Education and Acting

Charlotte participated in theater from adolescence. She met James during a two-week theater intensive in summer 2021, when she was fourteen and he was thirteen, where they performed as co-leads. In fall 2025, she began undergraduate acting training at NYU Tisch alongside him.

Charlotte was raised by Alastair, an English literary scholar, and Siobhan, an Irish stage actress. She and Catherine were twins.

Charlotte and James met as adolescent performers at a summer 2021 theater intensive and shared their first kiss on the train home. They continued their relationship after the program and later attended NYU Tisch together.
